i've got a job, or do i not?

Just when everyone around me is concerned over the fact that I've been jobless for 2 weeks, I've finally got a job offer. Well, 2 offers to be exact. In 2 different hotels.

Both are 5* properties but the first is an International hotel while the 2nd is a Semi International (in the pacific region).

While the international hotel has more prospects in terms of career building but the position is rather low while the Semi International hotel is an Executive position but the job scope isn't as interesting as the former. Oh, and its in the vinicity of the future IR which will be blooming.

Remuneration wise, both are rather similar.

International hotel contacted me and said they want me to start asap but have yet to contact me to go sign the appointment letter.

Semi International hotel ranged me earlier to make a trip down tomorrow though.

I prefer the job scope of the International property but would want an Executive position. -sigh sigh sigh-

I'm so confused and depressed because I can't make up my mind if I would want to make a trip down to the Semi International hotel tomorrow morning...

its gonna be a long long night for me...

putting it simply, at the lower end of the food chain, the scope of work is more important than the prestige of association.

by proving you are capable in this work/task/duties, this paves the way for future organisations to recognise your capabilities.

As hotels vie with each other in an invisible competition, attaining success in your hotel, means a smaller chunk of market share for the other groups.

success in this less-prestigious hotel, would definately create awareness for you towards the other larger international hoteliers.

Not to mention the prospect of being headhunted, and offered opportunities to better your future :)

this assumption is of course, based on the idealistic view that you would want to perform and garner results other than just getting by with a pay cheque :)

especially in the service industry, it pays to be in the limelight :)

just my $2 of view.
