Last Saturday, 25th April, the day before I flew off to Hong Kong, I attended the Watsons GLOW Spring / Summer Workshop. Though I'm supposed to be mouring but I was still pretty excited to attend this workshop with bestie and makeupmag! Oh yes, not forgetting Sesame of Vivawoman too!
It was held at Holiday Inn Park View's Crystal Ballroom from 2pm-5pm.
The workshop was scheduled to begin at 2pm but registration started at 1.30. Upon arrival, what excited me the most was the goodie bag that every participant will be entitled to after the workshop.
Upon entering the ballroom, on the right, there were 3 booths filled with goodies for sale at 20% off retail price, just for GLOW Spring / Summer Workshop participants. I was too excited about ZA and Vichy that I accidentally forgot a picture of the Wyeth booth filled with health supplements. -giggles-
The workshop started slightly before 2.30pm with a short Flexicise session by a fitness instructor from California Fitness where participants were taught simple movements with an elastic latex which we could bring it home with an instructional DVD! Bestie was so excited that she kept chanting, 'Eh, this really works! This really works!! I can feel it!!!"
Afterwhich, we had 2 health talks by Dr Alvin Wong & Dr Calvin Chan where they briefly discussed about the benefits of vitamins & minerals and the myths of skin whitening followed by a Vichy Facial Whitening Experience with their best selling Bi-White products. I did pick up some tips on skin protection which comes in really handy for my upcoming Bali trip where I'll be exposed to the sun most of the time.
The 1st session was then adjourned to a short break where participants were treated to delectable snacks and pastries. Bestie was waiting impatiently for the break and was extremely satisfied with the spread!
The 2nd session began with a beauty talk by ZA where the speaker spoke about Beauty trends for the upcoming season! I enjoyed this session the most!
We were taught different techniques for the 4 new ZA Spring / Summer Eyes Vibrante and 4 new ZA Wide Eyes Mascaras that they have just launched.
After which, we had a hands-on session (some of you did ask if there will be a hands-on session to practice and yup, there was!)! Each table had the entire range of ZA Eye Vibrante, Wide Eyes Mascara, and Blush Vibrante for all participants to try out the techniques that we have just been taught.
Clockwise from Top Left: To facilitate those who wore makeup to the workshop, there were Makeup Removers (Cleansemax Double Cleansing Gel) & even the Dewy Effect Lotion; The 6 existing ZA Eyes Vibrante (in which I personally own the E2 which was a gift from moonz_ger ) and the 4 ZA Blush Vibrante palette; the 4 new ZA Wide Eyes Mascara & the 4 new ZA Eyes Vibrante from the Spring / Summer collection. I was hoping we could bring these babies home! -LOL-
Instead of removing my makeup, I decided to do a makeover for bestie instead! After playing with all the trios and blush, I must say I am pretty impressed with the ZA Eyes Vibrante. They are very soft and pigmented which reminds me of Stila Eyeshadows! I especially love the taupe brown of E5 and the mint green of E9. Oh, not forgetting the aquamarine of E6, which is very unique!
The E2 that was given by moonz_ger have been well used by me after the workshop. The very next day when I flew off to Hong Kong, the only eye makeup I packed along was the ZA Eyes Vibrante in E2 as it was a light neutral shade, suitable for the funeral. I used the middle yellow-vanilla shade as an entire lid wash and the bronzy brown as my crease shade. I might consider picking up at least another 2 Eyes Vibrante! Anyone knows the retail price of these Eyes Vibrante? I think there's a 20% on ZA products at Watsons currently..
Everyone's probably interested to know what's included in the Goodie Bag yes?
Well, there was a bottle of Centrum Multi-Vitamins, Caltrate Calcium Supplements, a ZA 10oct Eye Shadow in 101 (a sweet baby blue and an aquamarine blue duo), the new ZA Wide Eyes Mascara in Blue, ZA Dewy Effect Lotion / Emulsion / Creamy Gel, 2 Chapsticks with SPF 15 / 30 (perfect for my Bali trip!!) and Vichy samples which includes the Aqualia Thermal Yeux Eyes for Bags and Dark Circles, my favourite Normaderm Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care, Aqualia Thermal Essence, a Bi-White Anti Dark Circles Whitening Corrective Eye Care, 2 sachets of Bi-White Reveal Double Corrective Whitening Essence and the UV-Activ Daily Protective Anti-Pigmentation Fluid SPF50 (perfect for my Bali Trip too! A sunscreen of SPF50!!).
This is my first beauty workshop and I doubt it will be the last. I did enjoy myself very much especially with good company. Bestie and myself picked up quite a few useful tips which will come in pretty handy especially on sun protection! Though I was a little dissapointed with the goodie bag, but on the whole, this workshop has been quite an experience and I'm looking forward to similar workshops in the near future!
Anyone attended this Workshop too? Share your experience with me!
i have not tried it as i'm not a fan of colored mascaras but i did play with the testers. the comb applicator seems pretty good. i heard from the other participants that it was able to coat each and every lash.
i wanted to try on bestie but she's anal about masacara testers. :P
