Dr Jart+ Black / Silver Blemish Base & Hanskin Blemish Cover

I have received numerous request to compare the Dr Jart+ Black Label Detox Healing Blemish Base with the Silver Label Rejuvenating Blemish Base. I only own the Silver Rejuvenating tube but read reviews that the Black Detox is a little more moisturizing.

Its been over a year since I used Dr Jart+ and I decided to get 2 trial tubes of the Dr Jart+ to make an actual comparision just for you girls!

I bought the 2 tubes including a Hanskin Blemish Cover from Gingerdip @ Blogspot about 2 weeks ago and here's the review!

She included an Etude House Moistfull sheet mask as a freebie too!

Dr Jart+ Black Label Detox Healing Blemish Base
Coverage : Sheer - Medium
Texture : Its a little thicker and is a little difficult to blend with a cosmetic wedge. I had to use my fingers to be able to blend it out.
Shade : This has a grey undertone which will be suitable for both pink and yellow undertones individuals.
Fragrance : This black label has a very fainty flora fragrance.
Oil-Control: Just like all reviews, this Black Label Detox Healing BB is a little moisturizing. I noticed shine within 2hours upon wearing it.
Dewy-ness: Because of the shine, there was a dewy finish on my face. Even after blotting with a piece of facial tissue, there are traces of the dewy look.
Price: S$14 for this 15ml tube
Overall Comments: I wasn't bearing much hope about the oil control as most of the reviews did mention that its a little moisturizing. It might be because it has anti-wrinkle properties and that will suit matured skin that often, is a little drier. I would recommend this to those who has a dry to normal skin type. Else, do use a good oil control primer. Oh yes, this does come with an SPF of 25 so you can skip your normal sunscreen.

Dr Jart+ Silver Label Rejuvenating Blemish Base
Coverage : Medium - Full
Texture : Comparing to the Black Label, this is easier to apply and blend with a cosmetic sponge. Its texture is more liquified and easier to manage.
Shade : This has a grey undertone which will be suitable for both pink and yellow undertones individuals.
Fragrance : Unlike the Black label, this Silver Label is fragrance-free.
Oil-Control: Unlike the Black label, oil control for this Silver Label is way better. It isn't the best among my stash of BB Creams but its still pretty manageable. Shine appeared only after 6hrs. Pretty decent IMO.
Dewy-ness: Its a semi-dewy finish.
Price: S$13 for this 15ml tube
Overall Comments: In comparision with the black label, I very much prefer the silver label because of the oil control, coverage and higher SPF (silver label has an SPF of 35 while black label only have SPF 25). If you have combination to oily skin, opt for this Silver Label instead.

Hanskin Blemish Cover
As the name suggests, this is a blemish concealer and not a BB Cream. Its a tinted spot corrector aka concealer for blemishes with healing properties similar to Oxy Cover (the flesh tone acne-pimple medication with 10% benzoyl peroxide) that I was using when I was much younger.

Unlike the Oxy Cover which is very yellow - orangey in shade, this Hanskin Blemish Cover is of a fairer beige with greyish undertones. Since it has a greyish undertones, it will fit both pink and yellow undertones complexion. Too bad its only available in one shade which I reckon will be more suitable for those with a medium fair skin tone.

Its coverage is pretty amazing. A little goes a long way. It can conceal your blemishes pretty well without caking up. With regards to its healing properties, I must say it works pretty well too. Last week when my sleeping routine was reversed (I was sleeping in the day and awake at night), my skin became pretty cranky and started having a little breakout but with the help of this blemish cover, I managed to clear up those nasty spots just before Bestie's bro's wedding on Saturday.

The only drawback is that, it does not really last. It tends to fade / melt away if you do not have a foundation primer beneath it.

I suppose it works as it claim, only if it comes with 2 shades, a fairer and a darker shade so as to suit a wide variety of skin tones. Oh yes, I paid S$13 for this full size tube.

Hope these reviews did help you lovelies!

Once again, I've gotten these 3 products from Gingerdip @ Blogshop.
